where are the creators

somebody re-sent this to my email. it shows a sad reality: the current disaster in pop music. how bad the things turned out in 40 years. today the pop world dances only around money and advertising, quality and creativity zero.

sometimes...

sometimes all what we need is a tall drink in a pink-with-palms painted place, a bunch of change for the wurlitzer, a green t-shirt with a dragon...

and a video by the Blue Hawaiians...

flamenco guitarist

quick drawing of a flamenco 'cantaor'.
Paco de Lucia is not a cantaor, but a flamenco guitarist. an excellent one. I wanted to complete this weekend post with a video by Paco, filmed a lot of years ago: 1976. but good is always good. so, here is Paco de Lucia rendering 'Entre Dos Aguas' (Between Two Waters). enjoy it!

Frank Zappa, "Shut Up 'n Play Yer Guitar"

* Frank Zappa's 3 CDs set box I bought - if I remember well - in the mid '90s - at a records store in Shenkin st., Tel Aviv. a real cool place always full of very rare, unique and 'impossible-to-find' rock and pop.
from time to time I take the box from the shelf and listen the discs again, remembering not only Zappa's guitar, but also that warm mediterranean salty aroma of those 9-month summers.

bye Elizabeth

* my farewell to Elizabeth Taylor, who left us today. she at "The Sandpiper", movie from 1965 with Richard Burton and with the theme of the film that is - for me - maybe the most beautiful song ever, "The Shadow of Your Smile".
